Parasite Protection

Fleas, ticks, heartworms and more pose a health risk to our pets and many can affect us humans as well. Activities outside the home and travel outside the county all factor into your pet’s risk for picking up parasites. Protect your four legged and two legged loved ones by making sure your pets aren’t bringing parasites back to your home!

Our veterinarians can discuss with you the lifestyle of your pet and make individualized recommendations for what protection they need. Enterprise Animal Hospital carries a variety of products to make sure we can choose the right one for your pet’s needs.

Enterprise Animal Hospital can help with injuries and illnesses ranging from the most minor to severe. We have same day availability because none of us want your pet to continue to suffer. When your animal is sick don’t wait. Call today to be seen today.

Spay and Neuter

Spaying and neutering your pets not only helps to prevent overpopulation but can provide behavioral and health benefits to your pets as well. Our veterinarians can discuss evidence based reasons for why and at what age your pet should be spayed or neutered.

All of our spay and neuter surgeries are performed in the safest way possible to ensure a quick return to normal activity for your pet. Our surgical plan includes IV access, a multi-modal pain control and anesthetic plan to ensure there is minimal risk during the procedure. Advanced surgical monitoring of all patients includes pulse rate, respiration rate, blood oxygen saturation, end tidal CO2, blood pressure, temperature and EKG. Our skilled veterinarians have performed thousands of procedures and operate through small incisions to shorten healing time. Patients are here for the day and walk out the door the afternoon of their procedure.

General Surgery

While our hope is that a spay or neuter is the only surgery your pet will ever need, our veterinarians have advanced training in many advanced procedures. Enterprise Animal Hospital has experienced surgeons able to assist with everything from simple mass removals to major abdominal surgery.

Our surgical suite is outfitted with all of the advanced monitoring equipment used for our routine spay and neuters as well as more advanced equipment for critical procedures. Suction, electrocautery as well as drills, saws and orthopedic supplies.

Discuss with our veterinarians the risks and benefits of surgery when indicated. Enterprise Animal Hospital is pleased to offer high end surgery at a more affordable price than many specialty surgical centers.

Dental Cleanings and Oral Surgery

One of the most overlooked problems in our cats and dogs is dental disease. You brush your teeth twice a day but does your pet? In the course of your regular office visits your veterinarian may recommend a dental cleaning. Some animals need one every 6 months, others may need only one cleaning in their life. Dental care recommendations are unique to each pet and our experienced veterinarians can help evaluate your animal and make individualized treatment plans.

Enterprise Animal Hospital offers complete dental care that includes routine scaling and polishing, full mouth dental x-rays and extractions where indicated. Our veterinarians are trained in the most modern, evidence based dental practices. We can help your pet’s breath stay fresh and their mouth free from pain. Make sure to regularly discuss your pet’s dental health with our veterinary team.

Radiography

Enterprise Animal Hospital is equipped with digital X-ray technology allowing us to image animals and have immediate results. Broken bones aren’t the only reason we need X-rays. Radiography helps us evaluate the heart, lungs, abdominal organs and skeleton of our patients as well as check for some bladder stones or see if they might have eaten something they shouldn’t have.

Echocardiography

Echocardiography is a method of using ultrasound to evaluate heart size and function. Heart murmurs and x-rays can be useful in identifying heart disease but echocardiography allows a much more detailed picture of heart function.

Dr. Severin has been extensively trained in imaging and interpretation of echocardiograms as it relates to common diseases and problems with the heart. By taking measurements of blood flow within the heart and heart chamber size he can help identify problems early and help decide when starting your pet on medication can significantly lengthen their life.

Abdominal Ultrasound

Ultrasound offers another way for us to evaluate your pet’s health and see what is happening inside of them without the need for surgery. Whether looking for cancer, bladder stones, kidney cysts or that sock that went missing last week our state of the art ultrasound can help determine what is wrong with your pet and how we can fix it.

Dr. Severin has done advanced training in abdominal ultrasound that allows him to evaluate all of the structures within the abdomen. In the unfortunate event that something abnormal is found, samples can often be taken using a needle and ultrasound guidance to aid in the diagnosis without needing surgery.

PennHIP

Hip dysplasia is a multifactorial disease in dogs that leads to pain and arthritis of the hip joints. While all dogs can develop arthritis some are predisposed due to varying degrees of hip dysplasia. For those who are considering breeding their dog, or an owner who just wants to know what they should expect as their dog ages, the PennHIP evaluation is the best way to understand the quality of a dog’s hip joints.

PennHIP (University of Pennsylvania Hip Improvement Program) radiographs are taken in our clinic and evaluated by specially trained radiologists to provide information regarding both the status of osteoarthritis currently as well as where your pet falls on the hip dysplasia spectrum compared to dogs as a whole and their specific breed. Evaluation starting as early as 16 weeks old can help determine which dogs should or should not be bred to ensure we are passing on only the best genetics.

Dr. Severin Knudsen is the only veterinarian in the region who is certified to perform the radiographs needed for a PennHIP evaluation. Please don’t hesitate to contact us to inquire about our PennHIP package or schedule your dog’s evaluation.

More information on the PennHIP program can be found at their website:

Endoscopy

Some places in the body can be hard to see on a physical exam. Our endoscope allows us to visualize some of these hard to reach places like the sinuses or GI tract without the need for surgery. Samples can be taken, ulcers identified and some foreign objects removed without needing a big incision. Endoscopy allows for a more full workup of many difficult conditions right here at Enterprise Animal Hospital.

Laboratory Services

Enterprise Animal Hospital hosts a full in house lab to help guide diagnosis and treatment of your animals.  Most blood samples can be processed in a matter of minutes so the best course of treatment in sick animals can be determined immediately without waiting.  Our laboratory also has the ability to quickly analyze fecal material, urine, clotting times, cortisol levels and confirmatory testing for thyroid function.

Our digital microscope has the ability to upload high resolution images of cellular samples to a pathologist for analysis of potential tumors in under two hours. We strive to offer as much as we can in our clinic so our patients don’t have to wait days for results to come in from an outside lab. We obtain our results rapidly so we can initiate effective treatment as soon as possible.

Health Certificates

Are you planning to travel with your pet to a destination that requires a health certificate? Know that international and overseas travel almost always requires a health certificate or your pet could be denied entry. Rules vary by destination and sometimes take work months in advance to ensure you and your furry companion are allowed to travel together.

All of our veterinarians are USDA accredited to write health certificates. If you are thinking about traveling with your animals please contact us well ahead of time so we can begin the process with plenty of time to spare.

Orthopedic Surgery

Dr. Grover is a member of the Veterinary Orthopedic Society and has done extensive training in advanced veterinary orthopedic techniques. Below you will find information on a selection of the orthopedic procedures offered at Enterprise Animal Hospital.

TPLO: Tibia Plateau Leveling Osteotomy. Your dog has ruptured its Cranial Cruciate Ligament (ACL, CCL) and surgery is recommended. Why choose the TPLO?

  • More peer reviewed studies than any other procedure

  • More published cases than the other surgical methods

  • Lower complication rate than other surgical methods

  • Less joint instability post op than other surgical methods leading to less long-term

arthritis.

TPLO surgery has a very high success rate, with 90—95% dogs regaining complete or near-

complete function of the affected leg and 93% of owners reporting that they are satisfied with the procedure 12 months after surgery.

Fracture Repair: Dr. Grover has had extensive training in fracture repair and management in

our pets. Fracture repair is complicated and can be a stressful time for the pet and the owner.

When your pet presents to EAH for fracture repair, Dr. Grover will consult with you to choose

the best option for the specific fracture, pet, and clients. Some such options include IM

pinning, plating, combinations, and conservative management.

Patellar Luxation

There are many different methods and surgeries available for treating luxating patella. At Enterprise Animal Hospital we tailor our surgical methods to each case in order to achieve the best outcome for your pet.

Other Orthopedics

Enterprise Animal Hospital offers a wide range of other orthopedic procedures to include Joint Fusion, Amputation and Achilles Tendon Repair. Call today to schedule a consultation with Dr. Grover.

End of Life Care

Sadly our domestic animals never live as long as we do. Saying goodbye to our four legged family members is one of the hardest things we have to do. Our veterinarians can help guide you through the process of pain management and hospice care until the time is right for you and your family. We offer euthanasia services both in home and at the clinic and can arrange for cremation of your pet through Loveland Funeral Home if so desired.
